I'm from out of town, but this looks amazing. I'm going to make a mini-vacation out of this. What the hell else is there to do?
For one thing, Friday, May 25th is QXT's monthly 80s music party, SO80s. So, there's that.
For during the day, you could easily take the PATH train into NYC to check out some of the sites in Manhattan.
Don't feel like schlepping into Manhattan? Don't blame you. Believe it or not, there's a lot to see and do right around here.
There's the Newark Museum, New Jersey's largest museum, which features art from around the world, a planetarium, and one of the world's best Tibetan galleries.
There's the Cathedral Basilica
Branch Brook State Park, which offers a dazzling display of cherry blossom trees in the spring
Another option is Liberty State Park in nearby Jersey City, where you can see the 9-11 Memorial as well as spectacular views of the NY skyline, and the Statue of Liberty
And of course, you could visit the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island
Or Liberty Science Center
Into comics and collectibles? Kill some time at Fortress of Solitude at 53 University Ave.
Ok, great, but now I'm hungry. What about food?
Glad you asked. Newark is actually kind of famous for its cuisine. No, seriously. Some of the best Spanish and Portuguese restaurants on the east coast can be found here in Newark. Just take a stroll down Ferry Street, and take your pick.
Like BBQ? Take a walk to Dinosaur Bar-B-Que right down the street from QXT's for some of the best in NJ.
Want a place with some character, but still casual? Check out 27 Mix on Halsey Street, just a few blocks away.
Looking for something on the cheap? You'll find some of the best pizza and fried chicken you've ever had here, or check out some curry burgers at Burger Walla.
And don't forget that we'll have food trucks outside during the festival itself.
